About Larkin Hypnotherapy
My name is John Larkin, but my friends call me "Larkin."
I have been working with hypnosis and meditation for over twenty years.
As I work with more and more clients, and as I proceed along my own spiritual path and development, hypnosis, meditation and healing are becoming, for me, more of a calling. As a result, I recently went and became officially certified in hypnotherapy. I chose the prestigious Lightworks Seminars in San Rafael, California to do my training.
I received a black belt in Tae Kwon Do in 2001 from a wonderful school in Washington DC that emphasized the spiritual elements of the practice as much as the physical.
I am an avid advocate for my clients and for unleashing the power within you to facilitate your own healing or performance enhancement or confidence or whatever positive change you wish to effect in your life.
You might also be interested to know that I did smoke, on and off, for a number of years, so I know what it is like to be in the grip of nicotine addiction. I also know the satisfaction of being delivered from that addiction and can bring both to bear on our work together.
And there is a bigger picture here. In my opinion, the world is rapidly changing, and the insight gained from meditation and hypnosis will help us through these changes.
Ten thousand years ago, humans lived, worked, and hunted together in bands in order to ensure survival. It worked. In the ensuing millennia, as technology and culture evolved, bands grew into tribes, tribes into chiefdoms, chiefdoms into states. In ages past, we thought of ourselves as members of a certain tribe; today we think of ourselves as citizens of a certain nation. This, too, has been a winning survival strategy... So far.
However, once again, this way of understanding ourselves needs to evolve if we are to survive. Technology is shrinking the world, and in my opinion, we need to conceive of ourselves as members of the same species rather than merely the same nation or race, if the species is going to remain a viable participant in the biosphere.
This is going to require a cooperative expansion of our collective consciousness. We will need to help each other through this, and I welcome the opportunity to work together with you.
